Towards Earlier Detection of Breast Cancer

Addressing challenges in medicine and everyday life, and exploring new possibilities.

In addition to clinical development support, testing services, and the supply and sale of research materials, MedBis operates as a sales agent for the cosmetics brand Re:A. As a new initiative to contribute to the early detection of breast cancer, we are also considering the introduction of a new screening test.

From challenges in clinical practice to everyday skincare, we work with experts in each field and draw on the knowledge gained in our existing businesses as we strive to create new value.

01

Considering the Introduction of a New Screening Test

Breast cancer is a disease in which early detection and appropriate treatment are important. The "character" of breast cancer (its biological characteristics, such as grade and subtype) varies widely, and treatment is planned with the stage and these characteristics in mind.

Screening plays the role of identifying people who may have breast cancer and referring them for further examination. Choosing treatment after diagnosis requires detailed evaluation, such as pathological examination.

Aiming to widen the possibilities for the early detection of breast cancer, MedBis will work towards introducing a new screening test. In collaboration with specialists, we will examine its clinical usefulness and the issues involved in introducing it.

This initiative is under consideration. We will share progress and the timing of introduction as soon as this information can be made public.

02

MedBis's Role in Connecting Clinical Practice and R&D

MedBis links the needs of clinical practice to research and development and examines the potential for introducing products and technologies. Sharing development aims and evaluation issues with specialists, we help to shape research concepts by gathering and organising the necessary information and coordinating among those involved.

03

Collaboration with Breast Cancer Specialists

Incorporating the clinical insight of breast cancer specialists, we will clarify the challenges of early detection and the requirements for a new test, and, with attention to patients' quality of life (QOL), aim to introduce a test that is useful in clinical practice.
